Major Rule Changes for Yugioh

As I started my usual daily routine of going around seeking various Yugioh related knowledge and updates, yesterday I noticed a major rule change announcement on the official Yugioh site. As any major rule change affect everyone, I thought I’ll just have a quick look and then come back to read it later. However, turns out that the more I read it, the more I realize how big and serious this major change is.

New Ruling Updates from Konami Part 4

As mentioned in the previous article, I’d like to cover the 2nd important ruling made by the judges at the 2011 World Championships (WCS) and is to do with Xyz Material. As most of you are currently familiarizing yourselves with Xyz Summon, there has been a lot of confusion on how Xyz Material works with cards like Reborn Tengu and Sangan. Fortunately, Konami made an update to the official rule book in line with the OCG format so Xyz Materials are no longer treated as cards on the field or when they are sent to the grave.

New Ruling Updates from Konami Part 3

Normally under this category of articles, I’d like to cover the card text updates based on what’s published by Konami on their official website. However, after reading the latest one, I honestly feel it’s just additional clarification to what is already there – so the only piece of advice I can give you is READ THE CARD (at least 3 times please), then ask a judge if you don’t understand it.

What I would definitely like to cover today though, are the rulings made by the judges at the 2011 World Championships which was held in Amsterdam this month regarding Priority and Xyz Materials. These rulings are extremely important and I certainly believe it will become effective sometime in the near future – however, until an official announcement is made, play with the existing rules.

September Limited and Forbidden List

As most of you might be aware, the September Limited and Forbidden List has now been officially announced a few days ago for both OCG and TCG formats. Although both formats generally have the same lists, I have been refraining from mentioning anything about it until the official list for TCG has been released – since there are several differences which (you never know) might be given exceptions but thankfully, this hasn’t been the case.

New Ruling Updates from Konami Part 2

A while back, Konami started updating their official website with articles containing some updates to the recent changes they are making to the Yugioh card text – which they decided to undertake as an overhaul of the game in line with their 10th anniversary milestone. These series of articles went up to Part: 4 and then it sort of stopped, before they posted Part: 5 just a few days ago. So, let’s see in detail what the latest update is as it refers to an often talked about subject – Special Summons.

New Ruling Updates from Konami

As with any duels, there are always ruling issues – it is very common to have intense discussion with your friends or opponents whether you can do this or that under various situations, especially when it can decide the outcome of the game. This is not a bad thing provided that such discussions don’t take an ugly turn, as everyone usually learns from outcomes. However, such discussions are sometimes unnecessary and avoidable if cards had clearer text/rules.
