Starter Deck: Xyz Symphony and Hidden Arsenal 05 Special Edition

Today I’d like to cover our first Starter deck since we move into an era of Xyz Monsters. As always, Starter decks contain mostly reprints but with some previously never released cards, this is an exciting product as the new cards are actually very powerful – which will be the focus of this article.

Competitive Edge: My Dark Ascension Wishlist, part 1

By the time you read this, we’ll have seen at least one week of Dark Ascension previews, but at the time of writing I’ve hardly seen any of the set. What I have seen, however, has already got me very, very excited – Gravecrawler signals a push for a zombie deck in Standard, Increasing Confusion will replace Blue Sun’s Zenith as a finisher in decks looking to win through Nephalia Drownyard, and the new mechanic Fateful Hour gives us new ways to play with Phyrexian mana (and maybe even completely break it, finally, if there’s a Fateful Hour effect powerful enough.)

What to expect from Hidden Arsenal 05

With everything getting wrapped up as the end of the year approaches, plus rigorous practicing of my new deck, unfortunately I have been out of touch with what Konami has for us for the end of the year. This is the first article for December and to start off with what they have for us (which I am guessing is a mini-rush of new products), we’ll start with Hidden Arsenal 05 (HA05) which recently arrived at Battlecraft Games.

Legendary Collection 2 The Duel Academy Years

LegendaryCollection2

Update: This product is now sold out. No reprint is expected, but the Magapacks look like they will be made available by themselves next year.

Firstly, apologies to everyone who reads my articles – I’ve been really busy at work with several massive projects and as it gears up towards the end of the year, it’s going to be even more busier right until the Christmas break so I haven’t been writing as regularly as I should be. Also, for this one I had to do a complete re-write because no one knew till the last minute whether the structure deck was to come out first or not.

Anyways, onto our latest release from Konami – the Legendary Collection 2 (LC02).

Structure Deck: Gates of the Underworld

Gatesoftheunderworld

It’s been a few months since Structure Deck: Lost Sanctuary was released and as all duelists know, Fairies are strong. Being proven with a solid track record by winning local tournaments to the 2010 World Championships, it is reasonable to expect that every time you duel, there’s pretty good chance that you would run into a Fairy deck of some sort.

And now, probably the most exciting structure deck to be released (for me at least), it’s time for the Dark side – the 21st Structure Deck: Gates of the Underworld.

Generation Force: Special Edition

We all know what a huge impact Xyz Monsters made to the Yugioh environment with the release of Generation Force – we also all know as more Xyz Monsters (and related cards) are released, the better they will be. However, let’s backtrack a bit to a different deck archetype which has long been forgotten, as over the next few days from the time I put this article up, you will start to see Generation Force: Special Edition at Battlecraft Games where you will get a chance to get a card many duelists have been wishing for a reprint of – Elemental HERO Absolute Zero and Spore.

Dawn of the Xyz!!!

xyz

As the rest of the world is busy preparing for the World Championships, a new card type just got released yesterday in a structure deck called the Dawn of the Xyz! – the main monster theme from the latest Yugioh anime Zexal. There seems to be a lot of confusion around this new card theme so let’s go over it together because after reading this, you will notice that it’s actually very good.

Structure Deck Review: Lost Sanctuary

lostsanctury

Roughly four weeks ago we received our newest structure deck – Lost Sanctuary. I have been busy testing this deck and I can definitely say the quality of structure decks have been improving each time they release a new one – and this is one great deck where you can just simply buy three, stick it together and have a deck that is already at a high standard.
