New Ruling Updates from Konami Part 3

Normally under this category of articles, I’d like to cover the card text updates based on what’s published by Konami on their official website. However, after reading the latest one, I honestly feel it’s just additional clarification to what is already there – so the only piece of advice I can give you is READ THE CARD (at least 3 times please), then ask a judge if you don’t understand it.

What I would definitely like to cover today though, are the rulings made by the judges at the 2011 World Championships which was held in Amsterdam this month regarding Priority and Xyz Materials. These rulings are extremely important and I certainly believe it will become effective sometime in the near future – however, until an official announcement is made, play with the existing rules.

Before Nationals the people I practiced with considered the following major players in the metagame:

Top 5 cards from Generation Force

Today, the world welcomes the first ever Yugioh set that features Xyz monsters – Generation Force. For those of you who participated in the sneak peek, I do hope you enjoyed it, and for those of you who missed out, this week is the official release of Generation Force where duelists from around the world embrace the latest set of monsters that will drastically change the dueling landscape. While thoroughly tested, Xyz monsters are brand new and during your duel, things might become a little complicated and needs clarification – this is perfectly normal, so if you run into such situation, grab someone who understands the rules and ask for clarification so everyone can learn from it.

New Ruling Updates from Konami Part 2

A while back, Konami started updating their official website with articles containing some updates to the recent changes they are making to the Yugioh card text – which they decided to undertake as an overhaul of the game in line with their 10th anniversary milestone. These series of articles went up to Part: 4 and then it sort of stopped, before they posted Part: 5 just a few days ago. So, let’s see in detail what the latest update is as it refers to an often talked about subject – Special Summons.
